Visiting the University of Northampton as part of the ALDinHE Conference

This highly visual post comprises a gallery of my observations and thoughts on my first visit to the University of Northampton. Large glass windows frame the atrium
A pull up banner stands next to a specialist bin for paper cup recycling. The bin has dedicated slots for liquids, lids and paper cups.
A giant clocks sits in the central void of the learning hub. A staircase cuts across it at level 1 through to 2.
The atrium has a large screen on the wall and rows of chairs have been lined up looking towards it. A podium is set infront, ready for a presentation.
A signpost for the toilets states 'everyone' with symbols representing male, female and both/mixed/either.

The whiteness of the void is cut through with the black panelling over the elevator shafts. This draws attention to them - making the building easily navigable.
A thin desk sits across the wall with chairs and power sockets. The table then dips down to form a seat further along.
One side of the condor has booth-like seating.
Sofas sit in the background near large windows. Closer to the front sits a curved sofa that sweeps around a small table.
Large windows look out onto campus spaces, bringing in lots of light. Seating is available to take advantage of this.
Three microwaves were available in the cafe, sat on tables
A large reception desk with screens behind. Students take a ticket and the screen tells them when it is their turn.
